Can anybody told me how to tune Baldor Linear motor. Recently I got one linear motor and microflex drive and having a feedback of linear encoder with hall sensor. But I don't know how tune this motor. and which version of the software I should use for tuning this motor. It is LMIC series motor
What type of linear encoder with Hall sensor do you have? Can Microflex drive perform brushless motor's commutation with encoder only?
Linear encoder: -ATEK MLS1 series linear encoder with hall sensor.
Presently I am able to autotune it but motor response is not smooth. I tried with fine tuning parameters but I am not able to do it. can you please suggest which all the parameters should I set for getting a good response? and what should be the value I should give for a good response?
Below I am mentioning motor series no...LMIC1AHCOA
Magnetic Track: LTIC-AS40
Magnetic Track LTIC-AS08
with microflex drive
Please help me in this regard.....

OK, but I need more details of your application:
- Microflex operation mode (i.e. current or velocity);
- operation mode of application (i.e. velocity or position);
- velocity range (min...max);
- encoder resolution, etc.
You may contact me directly: leonid.lega [at] gmail.com

First double check all electrical connections. Assuming you have done that, start by setting integral gain to zero. Then change proportional gain until motor is smooth, if it is oscillating slowly, raise P gain. If it is oscillating quickly, reduce P gain. If it the motor is noisy, reduce derivative gain until it is quiet. If this doesn't work, then it is either wired out of phase or the current loop is tuned wrong.
