PID controller manual

You can find a few resources online:

ExperTune's tutorial page:
http://www.expertune.com/r2.asp?f=AList&l=tutor.html

Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PID_controller

Plenty of academic books on the topic, try an Amazon search if you want to get into the math.

However, for a practical reference, try some of these books:

David W. St. Clair, "Controller Tuning and Control Loop Performance: PID without the Math", now available from ISA at:
http://www.isa.org/Template.cfm?Sec.../Ecommerce/ProductDisplay.cfm&ProductID=10762

Greg McMillan, "Good Tuning Pocket Guide", also available from ISA, at:
http://www.isa.org/Template.cfm?Section=Books3&template=/Ecommerce/ProductDisplay.cfm&ProductID=7850

Good luck!

Hi,

The basic theory of PID control can be found in a number of places, but a manual for PID controllers is pretty much a hardware specific thing. Many software writers put their own twists and features into PID controllers and are sometimes limited by how the hardware and software allow them to actual perform the calculations.

What are you trying to do?
