I received a coriolis type flowmeter . the calibration range is 0-1000GPM . Process fluid is NGL . Density =0.65

Vendor done the calibration by H2O up to 2268kg/min

When i converted our range 1000GPM to kg/MIn it comes 2440kg/min . then found vendor calibration 2268kg/min is less from our range.

does vendor consider other parameter also in calculating flow that i couldn't understand. Can anybody tell me generally how mass flow is determined from coriolis type flow meter.

This should not be an issue, you should be able to go into the flow meter and adjust the settings to read 0 - 1000 GPM. All Coriolis meter should come factory calibrated on H2O, to get the K-factor.

Only issue I could see is if the flow meter was not correctly sized, you could have a flow meter too small for your application, if you like you could give me your process data and I could size it out and let you know the recommended size meter.

Fluid- Liquid , Flow normal - 418 GPM , Flow max -460 GPM, Operating pressure-590psig ,Max pressure -1100psig , Operating temp-105 deg f, max temp-150 degF, Operating Density -.5 ,Molecular mass - 48.14,Operating viscosity- .1, Max allowable pressure drop - 10 psig

DATAS FOR CORIOLIS SENSOR UNIT

Type- coriolis , Function -massflow , Connection flange size -6" 600lbs, Facing -RF ,Body-304ss ,Sensor housing -SS,Enclousre-IP65, Max range-0.0GPM ,Min range -1000GPM ,ACCURACY - +-0.2% flow rate
The model is Emerson F series sensor and transmitter (Emersonmodel-1700)is hart protocol supported ,

pls reply me. If you don't mind can you explain me also how to calibrate flow rate and calculations.

Actually the meters are calibrated to know the K-Factor/flow co-efficient over the flow range. Though meter can handle over specified flow range but if the K-Factor/Flow Coefficient is not provided for the over range than it would carry some inaccuracy which in some cases could be quite negligible but when we are talking about accuracy of +/-0.2% of reading than it is very important factory to consider.

Does the meter have Average K-Factor method or linearization table? If +/-0.2% of reading is based on linearized data than re-calibration is very important.
