Power generation equipment control. topic

We have a 12MW turbine in our power plant and we are currently using two magnetic pickups (one for current use & other as stand by) for woodward speed controller to measure the speed of the turbine. One sensor remain in line at a time as it fails second sensor feed to the conroller. we want to get the display & trend of the same speed using the same speed sensor simulteniously on a speed indicator. so as to get the speed information at the time of any failure. as our controller use this speed signal for internal reference only. No speed output is provided by the controller for the operator and some times its difficult to find out wether sensor or controller has malfunctioned. Please reply to the problem.
