Anybus IC for PROFIBUS connected to S7

I am using the Anybus IC chip for Profibus which is connected to a Siemens S7 PLC. I am able to read INPUT data from the chip but cannot get the PLC to accept an OUTPUT configuration. and hence cannot send data to the chip from the PLC. Have you had a similar problem with the Anybus chip?
