i have worked with Foxboro DCS IA-6.4 with UNIX. it was my best experience and this system is very user friendly and reliable. The things you should care

1. Control processor selection:it should not be loaded it means use CP that utilize less than 50% of its capacity and definitely it will be redundant

2. Selection of OS: WIN XP or UNIX station but i will recommend Unix because XP face lot of bugs. system slow complain but the advantage is only that XP is more user friendly.

3. critical control: if u have any critical control loops u should select redundant FBM.

while you know better about your system..these were only points that i think should be considered.

Take care
