Our GE Gas Turbine frame 9 with Mark VI control use two computer HMI, at local and at main control room. There are about 150 m distance. We use fiber optic for comm data. Now, we have new alarm "G1_po alm ALARM XMIT SUSPENDED CPU SWITCHED. "

1. Why this alarm appear? Please help us to fix this trouble.

2. Is this trouble because we use fiber optic?

3.Can we used LAN cable for that distance? What effect if we use LAN cable, not fiber optic?

Thank you

This alarm is "typically" due to the fact that one core of your MKVI controller has failed or faulted. Typically one core R, S, or T, is the "designated" processor. This processor is the master of the three, it talks to TCI, HMI etc. If the processor is the "designated" processor, and it faults, fails, or is shutdown, then you will get the alarm for Alarm Xmit Suspended CPU.

I do not believe this should have anything to do with distance of cables. If you can provide more information about your site and incidents that precluded this event we might be able to provide a better answer.
