I want to drive 12v dc motor with help of plc. Two of my students doing a project, in that they require a robo car which contain dc motor. we need to Drive that motor with help of Plc. Will any one help me with it.

I assume its a permanent magnet motor and you want to go in both directions.

A 12 Volt motor will probably draw more current than the PLC can provide.

You could use 2 2 pole relays 1 forward, 1 reverse. In the logic make sure you interlock to prevent both relays energising at the same time.

Have fun

I hope that cont. current of your 12V DC motor lower than L293D one. You must limit peak current of motor by external for PLC circuit like chopper one as well. The 4 free-wheeling diodes for each motor must be fast-recovery ones for PWM control.

Follow Application Notes' recommendation for design at PLC Outputs' sequence for PWM control of L293.
