I am installing a new advant server which must communicate to an AC450 and MP200/1 about 600 feet away. do I need a repeater or can the system reach that far?

It depends on the cable type.

The ABB masternet manual gives the max segment length for Co-ax cable as 500 meters but this is for the older thicknet style cable not thin co-ax and you need to carefully follow installation rules for this cable type.

The Masterbus MB300 hardware is just ordinary ethernet, so if you are using cat5 cable 600 ft is probably a bit too far - the normally accepted limit for cat5 is 100 meters so you should use fiber for longer runs.

The Masternet installation manual is 3BSE 003 839R0201.
