Gas Turbine Temp. Spread Analyze

Not usually, if you are referring to a liquid fuel purge check valve.

Some machines have water injection purge check valves, but even a failed water injection purge check valve probably wouldn't cause a high spread when running on gas fuel, because if I recall correctly the water injection purge is only for a short period and not continuous. But not all units have the same sequencing for water injection purge.

You have mentioned unit is running on gas fuel.

Liquid fuel purge check valve is used to keep the liquid fuel nozzle tip clean. If any check valve is chocked and running on liquid fuel may have impact on exhaust spread.

I'm not sure I understand your response. Do you mean the chocked check valve is only a problem while running on liquid fuel because it lets water leak in, or do you mean the chocked check valve lets in liquid fuel into the combustor when it is running gas?

I'm asking because I am doing research to discover the most common causes of, and cures for, thermal spread.

thank you
