dear all

I m an instrumentation engineer in oil & gas industry. now i preparing of the construction of fiber optic telecommunication system. my problem is how can i resolve the attenuation of signal for a distance of 110km fiber optic cable length.

please help

First, the fiber optic cable must carry a digital network. There are many long distance solutions for fiber optics that vary depending upon the traffic volume. For example, there are several undersea fiber optic cables installed as part of the global internet. All of these cables carry a mixture of signals for telephony, internet, and video. They all use 5 micron single-mode fiber multi-core cables with laser-based transmission. A normal installation places a passive erbium laser pump amplifier every 75 km.
