I try to connect AC160 controller using PC interface X3 via MB300-AF100 bus.

I am getting the pop up error message "Can't start communication software on FCB"

Any one experience this before. Could you tell me what is the problem.

 

OK, I'm confused. MB300 and AF100 busses are completely different things. MB300 isn't even supported by the AC100 controller range. So on the AC160 you have ports for Serial Comms and AF100.

If you're getting the communications popup message from Function Chart Builder (ie the programming tool) then the PC cannot start comms on the port you have configured in FCB, either serial or an AF100 port on an installed AF100 interface board.

So, is this a new installation that has never worked or has something stopped working? If its a new installation, check your comms settings in FCB and make sure you have installed the comms hardware correctly according to the manuals. Otherwise, check your cabling and anything you might have changed.
