Question about electricity, voltage, phasing.

We've been on assignment in Ireland for 3 years and have acquired a few 220 V electrical appliances here. Returning to US, would consider taking Ireland 220 V "mains" (receptacles,) and, after wiring thru smallest 220 V (split phase) breaker, attempt to use the circuit for electric skillet (believe this would NOT be a problem.) Also have expensive electric mixer. Because this has a motor, believe this MIGHT be a problem. Any suggestions (besides hire a contractor or use a step-up transformer?) Thanks.
