in our 500mw power plant, we have different control systems from different vendors for controls of boiler, turbine and balance of plants. each system is having its own HMI system. we have plans to have a common hmi for total power plant. all signals/ commands from/to this common hmi and boiler/turbine and BOP systems are planned through OPC link. i would like to know about reader's experience regarding this and also how much reliable will be this system, in terms of critical operations and speed of control commands.

thanks in advance.
