Temperature Monitoring for Rotating Contacts

Hi Everyone!

I am looking for a device that can monitor the temperature of the sliprings... Any suggestions?

It depends on the temperature and the surface characteristics (emissivity) for a simple infrared sensor to perform adequately. also, there is the question whether or not you want to do the measurement temporarily, momentarily or permanently.

JMS has a patent pending device that is based on 2 brushes made of thermocouple materials. the hairs in the brushes glide along the slip rings making good contact without scratching or developing excess heat. the resulting temperature is more accurate than either infrared or other thermocouple based surface sensors. It is based on an integral (dip style) thermocouple discussed in literature going back 100 years. It is called the "Brush".
