Proximitor problem in Bearing-3 of 9E machine
Power generation equipment control. topic

hello everyone,

We have proximitors in all the bearings in 9E machines. This proximity sensors are used only for monitoring and its not used for tripping the machine. We have both Bently 3300 and 7200 system in different turbines.

we have 2 proximity probes and proximitors for the same in bearing-3 which is in load tunnel compartment. This proximitors are inside the Jb in the load tunnel compartment itself. Since the area is of high temp, the proximitors getting burnt and became black and brittle within 3 months after changing with new one. Every 6 months we are forced to change the proximitors which is of high cost.

So pls suggest,is there any proximitors of bently nevada with high temp, so it can withstand long time,or else any option...

cheers,
s.prasath

Buy a prox with a longer, heat-resistant cable and mount the prox in a cooler area.

Proxes and cables can be had in many different lengths. You may need to source a proximitor for the longer cable.

Maybe the question should be why do you have such a high temperature and did you always have this problem? Otherwise you may be treating the symptoms of a larger problem.
