Dear All,
Im an Electrical Engineer new to automation, I have a Schneider plc, citect scada, then the software installed on the pc's are opc, MS sql. Now my questions are
1.How all these are interconnected to generate a report in excel?
2.what is opc? how it works

I suggest you take a look at XLReporter from SyTech since it natively interfaces to Citect SCADA both for OPC and MS SQL. See the link below for more information.

A 3 minute video explains how to create Excel reports directly from an OPC Server.
