Hidden code in Omron CPM1A
PLCs and related questions. topic
Posted by kokko on 24 July, 2012 - 8:53 am
I got a problem with Omron Sysmac CPM1A-40CDR-D.

My machine controlled by cpm1a doesn't make all programmed moves like before. I suppose PLC is a cause. I thought that some instructions in code hangs or malfunction, so I have connected PLC to PC, imported instruction set code into Syswin 3.4 and analyzed. Seems like some code doesn't display. Those what is displayed is not complete. I was told that a software producer hides some code, provides himself monopoly for repair service :) So my question is:

How can I view hidden code?

Thank you in advance for any help.

Hi,
I dont know for syswin, but the new software "cx-programmer" gives the possibility to (partially) protect the PLCprg. don't know much about this, google "cx programmer protect".

I do recall an issue with a prg uploaded with one software, didn't gave the same ladder when downloaded in the other software (can't recall which to which).

i'm afraid, when password protected, you do need a password, duh :)

try the mrplc forum for more questions

sincerely

Thanks hast66

Before posting I asked omron service and they told me that different programs (syswin, cx-programmer etc.) should load exactly the same ladder.

Anyway I will try cx-programmer.

Password will be a problem indeed :)
