modbus poll and tapcon230

dear Sir
we are using Tapcon 230 expert based on modicon modbus p1 mbus 300-r-j. we have configured its Rs 232 CI port for Modbus ASCII protocol.
we installed modbus Poll software at my pc computer and it was connected though serial port com1 to RS232 of tapcon230, connection was set at Modbus ASCII serial port.
When connection was set its gives timeout error.
