I have an amplifier that is being replaced and the replacement has a larger current draw. The old model uses an IEC type plug from an outlet on the main machine.

Do I have to hardwire the new units with conduit or can I go to a twist lock or locking type power cordset? The new circuit will be for 25A. I was going to use an AMP metal circular connector and update the outlet on the machine and amplifier for this type of plug configuration. We use the twist locks in the states would I have a problem using this in Europe with CE? It is our machine and the outlet is designated for this support equipment only and the outlet is not there is the support equipment is not used.

Any comments or design rules would be a great help. Online sources/directives to validate this type of design would be great
