Festo Solenoid Leads Flickering LEDs

I have an application on-site and recently we have started to find that there are a number of LEDs on the Solenoid leads that flicker.
What could be the cause of this?.
Its unlikely to be an earth fault so is this pointing to loading issues in our junction boxes? We are wiring the solenoids from Siemens ET200S I/O.
All a bit of a mystery and not something I have experienced before.
