I've not worked with PLC's before. We are not in possession of the software uploaded to the PLC. I am assuming that within IEC104, one would additionally have some kind of register/value/mapping table. E.g. at which address to find "gas-pressure X".
Is it principally possible to hook-up to an unknown PLC (Allen Bradley) and get to know the software in detail? Would you then be able to find addresses for all those values?
The idea is that after learning the protocol we hook-up to the other side of the optical cable in the safe-area and also read the values of those parameters.
An additional question: does IEC104 allow 2 masters? How to circumvent if not?
Thanks in advance. If I'm asking a question on which the answer is obvious I apologize in advance. Thanks a lot!!
