What is leak OFF Test in GE's GT? What is its purpose? What logic will cause its failure?

M Zeesha Ahsen,

Have a read of this thread:

http://www.control.com/thread/1300219973

It pretty much explains, sort of, why this leak test is performed--and what can happen if it's not, or if the logic is forced to prevent the alarm/trip when one or both the gas valves leak.

If you still have questions, please describe in detail the circumstances and the alarms (Process- and Diagnostic) which are annunciated during the event.

I think you maybe mean Gas Valve Leak Tests. GE are pretty well installing this as standard on most industrial GTs. Basically it tests the the SRV and the GCV(s)for leakage before light off (usually during purge or at 9% shaft speed. If either valve fails, you will get an alarm and the machine will not light off, some machines also run the same leak test on shut-down
