Has anyone got any experience in adding Ethernet/IP into a micro controller?
I am currently specing a firmware job which requires putting a Ethernet Stack with a CIP layer onto an adaptor for a drive control. This has a PIC24 processor so I know I can use the Ethernet Stack provided by Microchip. I have also been looking at the "free" Ethernet/IP adaptor code which is called OpENer and was originally by Rockwell. Has anyone out there ported this to a PIC processor? Firstly I would like to know how large the binary produced by it would be and also how much, if any, of a Ethernet stack I will need to deploy with it. Or is there an alternative?
Thanks in advance.
