Thermocouple readings problem

Took temperature readings with Omega J type thermometer but only had K type wire which I twisted into a junction. Problem is, I have no idea how to convert this data and it took hours to obtain and I had only 1 chance. Again, I used a J type thermometer with a K type wire. The readings were obviously way off but had no time to get J type wire.

The actual temperature ranges checked were at 200'F and 450'F.
Any formula I can use to convert this data?

Thanks so much in advance, Michele - [email protected]

involved back calculating when Type T measurement equipment and Type J sensor elements were used.

Yours involves Type J measurement equipment and Type K sensor wire.

Reference that thread and
where it says Type T, substitute Type J.
Where it says Type J, substitute Type K.

what you have to be careful of is that Type-K thermocouple wire, and Type-K extension wire are two different materials.
