In one of our offshore oil & gas project we are measuring hydrocarbon gas flow to the TEG unit. Problem is we don't have enough straight length for the orifice. There are 2 nos. 90 degree bends at upstream. Total straight length available is only 8D. In this situation Vendor has offered multihole (conditioning) orifice plate which needs only 1-3D upstream st. length. We know that conditioning orifice technology is not an approved technology by International standard. This theory is developed by a particular vendor and their patent application is still pending. I will be grateful if our forum friends can share their experience with such technology. Question is:
1. Have you used conditioning orifice plate in your plant?
2. If yes, what was the application - liquid or gas?
3. How they are performing? Are you getting the desired accuracy?
