ABB Flowmeter -Flow Data Is Less

We have a reservoir/tank which can accommodate 12000 cu.m. of water.

The actual volume of water to fill 1 meter height is 2500 cu.m. But in the ABB watermaster flow meter to fill that 1 meter height it is recorded as 1400 cu.m. The actual value should be 2500 cu.m.

ABB watermaster
DN 400
20 mA value 800

1) Is this a new installation or a new problem with an existing, previously satisfactory flowmeter?

2) Is the 1400 m3 volume value from the flowmeter's internal totalizer or from an external totalizer?

3) How do you know the flowmeter is completely full of water?

other flowmeters?

When you run multiple pumps through multiple flow meters to fill a common reservoir, then each pipe with its flowmeter will contribute a fraction of total.

1400 m3 is a fraction of 2500 m3. The other flowmeter measured the difference.

Couple questions for you. Which output are you using, or are you looking at a totalizer on the meter?
This may sound dumb but how do you know it is 2500 m3?

This problem exist from the time of installation this is not just for one flow meter. three locations have the same problem

internal totalizer is also there and SCADA totalizer is also there both showing the problem.

completely full of water?? what you mean?

our reservoirs have inlet and outlet flowmeters.
inlet flowmeter is ABB and outlet flowmeter is E&H

Hello Walt

4-20mA output from the flowmeter is taken to SCADA (Labview) through PLC (Schneider)

We have totalizer in SCADA and flowmeter both showing the problem
