Exhaust thermocouples in Gas Turbine

I need some information about number of exhaust thermocouples in gas turbines. In GE and other machines, 24 thermocouples are being used for exhaust temperature monitoring. What is criteria for selecting number of thermocouples with 14 combustion chambers?
