We have Emerson F300S series Mass flowmeter for measuring the slurry flow. We are polyester yarn manufacturers and basically paste consist of monoethylene glycol in liquid form and pure terapthatic acid in power form mixed into a paste with continuous agitation and then few inot the next reactor for esterification. it has 2 outputs- Density and Mass flow.

Now suddenly both the values are beginning to increase suddenly. like for example: flow has increased from 3100kg/hr to 3800 and density has become double.

What diagnostics can be run on this mass flo meter. Being weekend no Emerson engineer is available to guide us. can any one help.

 

Micro Motion's troubleshooting guides are typically in the converter/transmitter/electronics manual, not in the coriolis tube manuals. For instance the 1700 transmitter has 43 pages in its troubleshooting section.

A cause of a change in reported density is coating in the tube.

Go get the transmitter manual and go through the list.
