Coking

Coking of our GE-Frame-9E fuel nozzle occurs after every change over from liquid to gas fuel.
What are the causes and also is there any solvent to dissolve the coked fuel?

The topic of coking of the liquid fuel portion of dual fuel nozzles has been covered several times on control.com.

But, the thread summary said liquid fuel check valves were coking.

Which is it? Or is it both?

How old is the machine?

What kind of liquid fuel check valves are used (spring-loaded poppet valves, or air-actuated valves)?

I just discovered and joined your highly reputable site that is why lam asking the above question.

The machine was commissioned in 1998 to run only on liquid fuel and in 2008 gas conversion was made for the machine to run on dual fuel.

The fuel nozzle check valves are spring-loaded type.

Is there any solvent that can be used to dissolve the coked fuel?
