I can go the rout of a PC with DAQ input, but this is a rough environment. I would like to record dirct to USB memory (or stiffy as second best) The medie will then be removed for remote analysis.

Any one seen such a thing?

I don't have the time to develop a PIC processor based unit & would prefer a standard product.

any help please,

Steve

Hi Steve,

Have you considered a low cost DMM with data logging? Try Extech.com Sample rates as low as 1/sec and saved to a text file via built in RS-232 interface, for under $100.
Just a thought.

If you simply want to record the 4-20 ma signal for archiving, try products from onsetcomputer.com They can be programmed to sample and record in EEPROM from once /day down to less than 1/second, with the reduced intervals compromising ultimate memory. These are rugged (be sure and order the optional sealed case) may be set for delayed start and overwrite if necessary. They cost less than $100 and may be purchased online. I've used these in many simple tests with great success. Good Luck.
