Droop Load Sharing

When considering droop load sharing, can we operate a power system with two or more generators operating in droop mode without a load sharing module only with a ball-head governor? As the ball-head governor could maintain constant speed, will all the generators in the system follow their droop curves and share loads accordingly at set speed.
Please explain the controlling principle used to share loads between generators operating in isochronous load sharing mode.

hi,

the isochronous governors cannot be used when there are 2 or more units connected to the same system. since each generators whould have to have pricesely the same speed setting. otherwise they would fight each other, each trying to control system frequency to its own setting.

Also if possible plz send some more details about your system, so that we can provide u better solution.

In isochronous mode 2 or more generators in paralles CAN Share the load without any problems. Most of the engines would be electronically controlled (Ref woodward load sharing module PWM output 9907-175). I had 4 gens running all in isochronous mode.

Can you elaborate. did you have a master controller? or were you using 997-175 to tlak to each other using load sharing lines?

If you were using a master controller like Gensys then were you giving the speed signal from the master controller to the sync input(terminals 24 &25 ) or the load sharing (terminals 10 and 11) of 9907-175.
