If we procure EEx-'d' enclosure with suitable Glands, can it be used to house normal Electronic Instruments.

The power consumption of the electronic instrument shall be less than 2-5W.

 

Dear Mr. Patil,

As far as I know, you can use your instrument in EEx 'd' enclosure, however I would suggest you to go through relevant standards.

You should check the certificate for the enclosure you are buying to see what limitations there are for its contents. If still in doubt contact your local Inspection Authority and get their opinion. Practice differs from country to country.
