We have a small (4200 KW) power plant. It has a boiler, steam turbine and generator. The power plant is synchronised with utility grid. It has got AB make PLC-5 (in hot redundant configuration) for control of boiler and turbine operations. We are looking for suitable HMI to get developed an application for this power plant.

Somebody may please suggest me:

1.Which brand SCADA/HMI software I choose

2.Are there any off-shelf (customised) HMI solutions available in market (India)especially made for Power Plants?

3.PLC-5 is quite old now so will the SCADA/HMI be able to have communication with it or do I need to change PLC hardware too for this purpose?

Any suggeations/help, thanks in advance

Well, you can use AB SCADA software, surely, it's 100% support PLC-5. Alternatively, you can choose CitectSCADA.

Hi,

We can provide solution for you. Our SCADA can communicate with various PLCs. Kindly give details on the type of communication port available (DH+, DH 485 / Ethernet) for interfacing.
