K-Tek interface level transmitter

we are using one K-tek interface level transmitter to measure the water level in a condensate-water mixture. the tank is open to atmosphere. But we have the problem that up to 15% the transmitter is reading the level but as the level builds up the reading is not rising. Several times we take the transmitter out and clean the float and check the calibration. It was found OK but the problem still exists.

Have you tested the transmitter with it's own wiring or in the shop? It may be the loop is running out of power. I have seen that where indicating fuses are used. The fuse blows and the loop keeps working thru the indicator light up to a few mA.

It could also be the float is sinking.

Dear All,

We have solved the problem. Actually there was lots of mud and sludge at the bottom of the tank. So we have decided to keep some level of water at the bottom so that the float cannot touch the sludge. Because whenever the mud is stuck with the float, the specific gravity of the float changes and gives wrong reading.

Thanks to all of you for your replies.
