It is said that the best suitable option for motion/machine control is a dedicated PLC. Does anyone have a reference for this?

 

The real debate is between a motion controller and a PLC. DCS is typically not a contender. There should be some opinions expressed by those far more knowledgeable than I in motion control that can offer their opinions. The topics has come before.
