problem IGV IN 9001E

in 9001e MARKV TMR 120MW

p = 75mw
tdp = 315c°
cdp = 9.2 bars
t ambi = 11c°
igv is controle 72.1°!!!!
TTXM = 370c°

CAN YOU HELP EXPLOITATION NORMAL FOR THIS TURBINE IN MODE CONTROL igv !!!!!

What makes you say this is a problem?

Are you saying the unit has IGV Exhaust Temperature Control Mode, and that it is selected and enabled and that the exhaust temperature is lower than it has been in the past?

Or, are you saying that the unit has IGV Exhaust Temperature Control Mode, and you've tried to enable it and it's not in operation?

Because at part load, which is what you describe, the IGVs are usually not fully open nor fully closed, and are modulated (varied) as the turbine is loaded. If the unit has IGV Exhaust Temperature Control mode and it's enabled, then usually the IGVs are held closed as long as possible to try to maximize exhaust temperature. And once the exhaust temperature reaches the exhaust temperature reference, or thereabouts, as the unit is loaded the exhaust temperature would tend to increase as fuel is increased. But, the IGVs would be opened to reduce exhaust temperature, maintaining the reference, until as the unit continues to be loaded, the IGVs are fully open and then the unit goes on Exhaust Temperature Control (Base Load).

If the unit doesn't have IGV Exhaust Temperature Control or it's not selected and enabled, then usually the IGVs are held closed until the exhaust temperature reaches approximately 482 deg C and then as the unit is loaded the IGVs will open to maintain that setpoint until they are fully opened, at which point the unit will not be at Base Load and can still be loaded further with the IGVs remaining fully open.

Again, what makes you say this is a problem? Are the IGVs "stuck"? Do you believe they should be more open or more closed? What mode is the unit being operated in (meaning, if the unit has IGV Exhaust Temperature Control mode, and it's capable of being turned on and turned off, is it on (enabled) or off (disabled))?

IGV problem

hmmm .... wish people would ask their questions in a non-cryptic manner. i hope this is what the originator meant.

He has his unit in temp control ON. that is the only thing that explains the IGV position in 72 deg ( unless of course someone put the machine in manual igv mode and gave a set point of 72 deg ). frame 9e is a 120 MW turbine in iso condition. in this site (i do not know the exact value) it would be around 100-110 mark i guess. IGV starts to open at the fag end of the max loading point. IGV from 56 deg to 85 deg actually controls only 10-20% of the maximum rated air flow.

what the originator wants is why has the IGV opened so quickly. his machine is loaded only at 75 MW. this is not where the IGV should be open at 72 deg.
there is something wrong there in the values. if it is put in temp control on , then the IGV should not open for a temp of 370 deg.

bottom line is , the originator is asking why the igv is open 72 deg for a such a low part load. any way let him come and confirm whether this is what is in his mind.
